Biography

Dr. Kaj Hänninen's research has focused on development and analysis of embedded real-time systems. He is currently working with functional safety at Bombardier Transportation. Previous to his current position he was employed by Arcticus Systems where he divided his time as a safety manager, systems developer and researcher. Over the years Kaj has been working with different aspects of functional safety (Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety-related Systems, Railway applications - Communications, signalling and processing systems, Road vehicles). He has been lead software engineer in several safety projects. Kaj’s research results have been incorporated into the Rubus tool suite used by companies in the vehicle domain.
