1 - How do you classify this thesis (1 - Weak, 2 - Avarage, 3 - Above avarage, 4 - Exellent)? 4 - One of the better I have seen for years 2 - What is your overall expertise concerning the subject areas of this thesis? 1 - I am an expert 2 - I am knowledgeable in the area, though not an expert 3 - I am not an expert. My evaluation is that of an informed outsider 3 - for timing analysis, 1 for verification 3 - Technical strength (1 - Weak, 2 - Avarage, 3 - Above avarage, 4 - Exellent) 3 4 - Presentation. Is the thesis well written? (1 - Weak, 2 - Avarage, 3 - Above avarage, 4 - Exellent) 4 5 - Summary of the thesis (Short summary of the thesis) A model has been created that simulates a large robot system with the purpose to analyse timing of tasks and aid verification of the system. The model revels good enough verification of measurements, and gives dead-line misses and warnings and it will be easy to extend for further simulation. A set of supporting tools were also developed that will be very useful. 6 - Points in favour and against (also sent to the authors) Very well written, honest, excellent structured and it is easy to follow the the work. The difficulties seems to be solved by good and explained choices, and the future work is well analysed. Basically, I would hire these guys immediately ;-) for a position. Since I'm no expert on timing analysis, I find it difficult to understand the "research" contribution (but that might be more me, they seem to have read their references well), but I have no problem in understand how good and helpful this will be for the industry for a difficult problem. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Above average (3) 2) I am not an expert. My... (3) 3) Above average (3) 4) Above average (3) 5) Bra helhet, men nyttan med verktyget som tagits fram i arbetet framkommer dåligt. Känns lite tveksamt med tanke på raden av kända buggar och de förbättringsidéer som presenteras. Saknar också en uppskattning på verktygets användarvänlighet, dvs hur lätt det är att komma igång med verktyget samt hur svårt det kan vara att göra en ny simulering med något tillägg i koden. 6) + Något nytt. På gränsen till forskning(?) + En bra approach till problemet det här med att göra en lagom komplex modell av det verkliga systemet. Intressant att en så liten modell verkar duga så bra. + Gediget arbete. Bra att kommit så långt under ett examensarbete. (Min erfarenhet är att man gjort "mindre") - Det uppskattas ingenstans hur svårt det kan tänkas vara att komma igång med verktyget. - Oklart huruvida verktyget direkt kan användas av ABB, eller om det först måste vidareutvecklas.
