Call for Papers

SNART (The Swedish National Real-Time Association) is traditionally arranging the Real-Time in Sweden (RTiS) conference in June this year. The conference is intended to give an overview of current research and development in the area of real-time and embedded systems, as well as to stimulate networking among conference attendees. This year the conference is held in the beautiful city of Västerås June 13-14. In the spirit of networking, we offer the option of a social activity already in the evening June 12.

This year we are opening a call for papers within two tracks:

  1. Graduate Student Project Papers, where Ph.D. students describe their research projects by giving an overview of their research topic, research questions and motivations and research results (both already published and preliminary). The goal of this format is to allow the conference attendees to get an overview of the Swedish landscape within research on real-time and embedded systems. The submission can be in the form of an extended abstract, or in short paper format.
  2. Technical Papers, in which a more specific research problem/contribution is described. Both unpublished and elsewhere recently published papers are accepted. The papers should be within the area of real-time and/or embedded systems.

Collocated with SIES 2011

Full papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format. Contributions are limited to 2-4 pages for Graduate Student Project Papers, and 6-8 (Max) pages for Technical papers, IEEE Proceedings format.

Topics

Embedded and/or real-time systems issues related, but not limited to:

  • Multicore platforms
  • Operating systems
  • Scheduling
  • Resource management
  • Formal verification
  • Real-time control
  • Component-based design and analysis
  • Wireless sensor networks
  • Reliability and fault tolerance
  • Networked embedded systems
  • Wireless communication
  • Middleware support
  • Architectures

Special for this year's RTiS is that it is held in conjunction with the 6th IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Embedded Systems (SIES'11). SIES is one of the main annual events of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, having an aim to bring together researchers and practitioners from industry and academia and provide them with a platform to report on recent developments, deployments, technology trends and research results, as well as initiatives related to embedded systems and their applications in a variety of industrial environments.

Registration to RTiS is free for SIES attendees.

Hence, this year we can offer you a very nice opportunity to network among our Swedish colleagues at RTiS'11 in research and graduate education on real-time and embedded systems June 13-14, as well as attending SIES'11 with an excellent scientific program June 15-17. Note the submission deadline for full papers to SIES is March 2 (short papers end of March).
