Aim:
The aim of the workshop is
to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from industry and
academia involved in the area of factory communication
systems.
Focus:
Real-time issues in
factory communications: message scheduling, distributed application
support; Dependability issues in factory communications: safety, security,
availability and reliability; Formal description techniques for the
verification, validation and test of factory communication systems; The
integration of the emerging information technologies with the factory
communication systems; Communication aspects in factory system
design and architecture.

Submission of
Papers:
The working language
of the conference is English. Submissions should
be formatted as follows: First page: title, authors, mailing and e-mail addresses,
phone and fax numbers and preferred workshop topic. Second and succeeding
pages: Paper manuscript limited to 20 pages (at least 1-½ spaced, in
a font no smaller than 11-point).
A special Work in Progress
(WIP) session will be organized. This session is mainly intended for presentation
of on-going work. Accepted papers will not be included in the workshop proceedings,
instead they will be published through the WWW and in specific WIP proceedings.
Submissions in the above areas should be sent in the IEEE double column format
(not exceeding 4 pages) by e-mail to one of the WIP Session Co-Chairmen.

Paper Acceptance
Each accepted paper
must be presented at the conference by one of the authors. The final manuscript
must be accompanied by the registration form and also by a proof of the
registration fee payment. All conference attendees, including authors and
session chairpersons, must pay the conference registration fee, and their
travel expenses.
